Abstract

The manipulations of memory in this text will be evoked by the intervention of a disturbing and multifaceted factor that intersects between the claim of ancestry, history and the resistance of a people who express their identity in the form of toada in the public expressions of memory. Taken at this level of depth, the analysis of the toada phenomenon is ideological and falls within the orbit of a “cultural semiotics”. We can clearly see that the text carries as an integrating factor that ideology can be considered as the guardian of identity, insofar as it offers a symbolic response to the causes of the fragility of this identity. The text studied here in fact, offers what ideology seeks to legitimize the authority of the order of power, which would add a kind of added value to our spontaneous belief, thanks to which it could satisfy the demands of credibility.
