Representação versus prática na constituição identitária política brasileira

Abstract

This paper presents a discussion about the formation of Brazilian political identity and the implications that this ethos represents in the interactions and networks of relationships established between political agents and parties. The objective is to highlight how representations take the place of practices in political interactions, within an idiosyncratic profile of opposition. Therefore, the formation of the Brazilian identity will be addressed first, followed by the understanding of the profile of the political individual, and finally, how representations replace practices in relationship networks, aided by the theoretical support of Alfredo Bosi, Roger Bastide, Sergio Buarque de Holanda and José Basini.
