UMA ANÁLISE DO GÊNERO EPISTOLAR
Abstract
Mozambican literature presents a plentiful and valuable production. Immersing into the analysis of a Mozanbican literary work, as well as from other Portuguese Language speaking African countries is moving trough a soil loaded with literary asthetic aspects of a historical and cultural tradition. Starting from this assumption the present research aims to study the romance “Antes do Nascer do Mundo” (2009), from Mia Couto, with the intention to investigate the use of the letter genre as a literary craft, as in the mentioned romance Mozambican writer presents the genre as the object of narrative construction. In order to do so, the author creativily opens space in the romance so the letters can tell us, readers, part of the story, keeping us connected to the narrative plot. Before that, the research presents a discussion about the romance theory, in order to understand it’s structure, analyzing the path of the use of letters in literature as well as it’s contextual, themes, linguistic, structural, time and space relationship and the narrative voice. In order to theoretically sustain the present research were mobilized studies of certain authors, to mention: Bakhtin (2005), Cavaca: Chaves e Macêdo (2013), Jankowsky (1976), among others. Therefore, by creating a hybrid text, which allows the reader to have contact with a narrative guided by two voices, the author.
