A IMAGEM DE CECÍLIA MEIRELES A PARTIR DE SUA APRESENTAÇÃO NOS LIVROS DIDÁTICOS
Abstract
Cecília Benevides de Carvalho Meireles, one of the greatest names of brazilian poetry, is widely known for its neo-symbolist style and by works that expressed themes such as ephemeral time and contemplative life, in an extremely intimate way. However, the presentation of Cecília in didatic books, by prior selection of poems to be made visible in the student's education, corroborates an image of a poet tied to regular structures and not formally daring. This study seeks to confirm that this image is the result of its stereotyped presentation in textbooks, ratified over the decades. At the same time, it seeks to prove that Cecília Meireles' poetic production presentes aspects, generally less observed, that would transport her portrait to a more daring poet, more critical and libertarian in spirit, as required by the modernist poet. For that, clippings from high school textbooks from the 1980s will be presented as a way of recognizing that the collective image attributed to the author it is the result of the way it was presented to the subjects during their schooling.
