A GEOGRAFIA POLÍTICA DE FRIEDRICH RATZEL
RESUMO
A constituição da formação da Geografia Política ocorreu no século XIX com a obra Geografia Política (1897), do geógrafo alemão Friedrich Ratzel, que inspirou, no século XX, o surgimento da Geopolítica como discurso de fortalecimento do Estado alemão. A Geopolítica, inspirada nas obras de Friedrich Ratzel e Rudolf Kjellén, não possui caráter determinista, abrangendo a política no território. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, baseada em artigos de revistas indexadas e trabalhos acadêmicos sobre o tema. Portanto, a obra de Ratzel constituiu um marco histórico na formação da Geografia Moderna, incrementada pela criação da Geografia Política, cujo livro Geografia Política incentivou o desenvolvimento da Geopolítica no século XX.

THE POLITICAL GEOGRAPHY OF FRIEDRICH RATZEL
ABSTRACT
The formation of Political Geography took place in the 19th century with Political Geography (1897) by the German geographer Friedrich Ratzel, which inspired the emergence of Geopolitics in the 20th century as a discourse for strengthening the German state. Geopolitics, inspired by the works of Friedrich Ratzel and Rudolf Kjellén, is not deterministic in nature and encompasses politics within the territory. This is bibliographic research, based on indexed journal articles and academic works on the subject. Therefore, Ratzel’s work was a historical landmark in the formation of Modern Geography, enhanced by the creation of Political Geography, whose book Political Geography spurred the development of Geopolitics in the 20th century.

La constitución de la Geografía Política se dio en el siglo XIX con la obra Geografía política (1897) del geógrafo alemán Friedrich Ratzel, que inspiró el surgimiento de la Geopolítica en el siglo XX como discurso para el fortalecimiento del Estado alemán. La Geopolítica, inspirada en los trabajos de Friedrich Ratzel y Rudolf Kjellén, no es determinista y abarca la política dentro del territorio. Se trata de una investigación bibliográfica, basada en artículos de revistas indexadas y trabajos académicos sobre el tema. Por lo tanto, la obra de Ratzel constituyó un hito histórico en la formación de la Geografía Moderna, enriquecida por la creación de la Geografía Política, cuyo libro Geografía política impulsó el desarrollo de la Geopolítica en el siglo XX.
