O Comércio Agrícola e Desenvolvimento Rural Sustentável: O Caso do Distrito de Murrupula (2020 – 2023)
Abstract
The objective of this research is to analyze the implications of agricultural trade in the sustainable development of Murrupula District. The problem of our research is limited to the fact that the data offered by PNUD in (2021) indicates that 70% of Mozambican population face material poverty and according to INE data (2017) ¾ of rural population are devoted to subsistence agriculture in the locals that there are no other alternative activities to generate the incomes besides the selling of agricultural products. Therefore we proposed to answer the following question: in which way the dynamics of selling agricultural products have impact in the sustainable development of rural zones? In an qualitative approach and by mean of participants observation as well as non-structured interview we noticed that the agriculture practiced is mainly family and subsistence one. The producers sell their farming products to the warehousemen intermediaries as matter of fact the producers keep tension and dependence relation `` in the market and buses-stop`` where they develop the relationship of solidarity which does not improve in order to have market associations. We concluded that the minimum price fixing, the lack of financing initiative and also production promotion have negative impact in the sustainability production practice and agricultural trade of the district.
