Abstract

This article proposes reflections about the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the official documents that regulate the use and the incorporation of ICTs in the school scope in Brazilian education, based on the Law of Guidelines and Bases (Law 9.394/96). Thereunto, the National Curriculum Parameters (PCNs), the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), the National Education Plan (PNE 2014–2024), and the National Educational Technology Program are highlighted. The research was bibliographic, documentary and qualitative. The method of research and analysis is based on the historical-dialectical materialism, considering the social and historical transformations of each document and also the contradictions of concrete reality. Despite the progress these documents present, the inequality of access makes it difficult the implementation of such guidelines. Thus, studies indicate that public policies need to support everyone equally so that social justice can happen and technologies in schools do not become instruments of exclusion or segregation, but rather enhance critical thinking.
