CHALLENGES AND ETHICAL ASPECTS
Keywords:
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI). ChatGPT. PlagiarismAbstract
This research aims to present a study on plagiarism in the context of texts generated by ChatGPT. A bibliographic survey was conducted across four databases: Portal de Periódicos Capes, MDPI, IEEEXplore, and ScienceDirect. For this study, eleven articles were selected—ten international and one national. Among the gaps identified in the literature or in the field which this study belongs to, the following can be highlighted: (i) a lack of effective tools for detecting plagiarism in multiple languages; (ii) the need for regulations and guidelines regarding the use of ChatGPT in educational settings; and (iii) the absence of discussions or deeper reflections on creative co-authorship arising from the use of ChatGPT in academic writing. The findings reveal that studies on plagiarism resulting from the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) require further investigation, particularly concerning the development of tools for plagiarism detection, the ethical implications involved, and the formulation of guidelines to promote the responsible use of such technologies in academic and educational contexts
