The concern with sustainable development in environmental education is quite recent in most States in Brazil. Independently of time and space, sustainable development have taken on various meanings according to countries, sociocultural groups, economic or political actors. The teaching and didactic methods should integrate intercultural dimension in order not to limit environmental education to some excessively local or culturally-marked perspectives.
