Environmental education is understood as a participatory process that seeks to reduce environmental impacts and promote the preservation of natural resources, with the school being an indispensable space for the formation of knowledge, values, and attitudes aimed at sustainability. This research was carried out in a public school located in the municipality of Lamarão, Bahia, within the Sisal Territory. The objective of this study was to investigate how pedagogical practices related to environmental education are articulated with the environmental perception of 6th-grade elementary school students. As an alternative to addressing the challenges, pedagogical interventions were proposed to foster environmental awareness, motivating adolescents to value the ecosystem. The study was based on the action research methodology, using questionnaires as a data collection instrument. The results indicated that the environmental education activities developed at the school unit aroused greater interest in the environment among students, promoting meaningful learning and encouraging critical thinking. The study also showed that the incorporation of environmental practices into the school routine broadens students’ views of the environment, demonstrating that the continuity of such practices in the school context is essential for the formation of conscious, critical, and sustainability-committed citizens..
