Abstract

This article presents a reflection on structural racism based on interviews conducted with residents of Humaitá (AM). The aim is to understand how racism appears in everyday life, often in a silent and hidden way, and how these experiences influence the identity, self-esteem, and opportunities of Black people. To this end, the report brings together real accounts of situations of prejudice, discrimination, and injustice, as well as observations on the resistance strategies adopted by interviewees to confront these forms of violence. The article also discusses the lack of awareness of the anti-racism law and the difficulty of accessing justice, elements that help maintain the cycle of racial inequality. By combining theory and experience, this work seeks to give visibility to the voices of the Black community and encourage reflection on the need for educational, political, and social actions that promote respect, equality, and anti-racist awareness.
