A research concerning the promotion and encouragement of psychological well-being in university students is presented. A reflection group with ten participants was conducted using qualitative phenomenological analysis to understand the subjective experiences of the participants during the confinement due to the SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 pandemic. In this safe space for dialog, it was found that the students agreed on experiences related to six categories, namely: resilience in the face of the pandemic, self-esteem, self-actualization, impact and influence of the family, resacralization, and the way isolation was experienced. The categories were analyzed by retrieving fragments of the discourse of the participants and given an interpretation from the theoretical-conceptual framework of existential humanistic psychology. It is concluded that it is important to create listening spaces within the educational setting on a permanent basis for the students reflection regarding their psychological well-being, coping strategies in difficult situations, and above all, to consider that by not being judged but quite the contrary, being accepted, considered in a climate of congruence, authenticity, and empathy, they can start on the path towards mental health.
