This article aims to analyze how Environmental Education Projects suffer total or partial interruptions within the Federal Environmental Licensing in the Campos Basin, based on data generated from dissertation research that investigated the effectiveness of the Pescarte Census as a pedagogical tool for social mobilization. At the time, semi-structured interviews enabled the emergence of statements that indicated that it was common practice to discontinue commitments made to different artisanal fishing communities. The article's methodology includes a literature review on Environmental Licensing and data from semi-structured interviews with representatives of the Pescarte Environmental Education Project and leaders of the artisanal fishing community.
Rafael Moraes Sagio Cezar Sagio Cezar

//www.periodicos.ufam.edu.br/index.php/wamon/article/view/16974

Abstract: This article reflects on the healing practices, medicalization, and judicialization of Indigenous peoples in the Amazon, which includes, to some extent, the preservation of their plants, animals, and minerals of vital interest from cultural, ethnic, and medical perspectives. It is identified that, given this necessity, the consolidated legal and normative framework to safeguard the interests and ways of life of Indigenous populations is insufficient, or even non-existent, in the face of human rights violations suffered by these communities within the Amazon. Methodologically, this study considers an analysis of the bibliographic materials already elaborated (Gil, 2000) on the subject. It reflects on various perspectives of the issue, allowing for a basic coverage of the phenomenon from a bibliographic standpoint. The results of the article point to a resistance of Amerindian ways of life against an increasing “development” policy that disregards the human collectives inhabiting the Amazon. It is concluded that the resistance of Indigenous peoples against the medicalization and judicialization of their lives is a crucial battle, not only for the preservation of their cultures and territories but also for the defense of biocultural diversity and human rights, emphasizing the importance of recognizing their traditional practices and their right to self-determination.

Keywords: Amazon, Indigenous peoples, Medicalization and Religiosity, Judicialization of life.
Walison Almeida DiasFlávia Cristina Silveira LemosManoel Ribeiro de Moraes Junior

This paper presents an experience report of a PhD student in Social Anthropology at the Federal University of Amazonas who faced the challenges of writing a dissertation plan for his qualification while simultaneously raising two young children and other household demands. It is an ethnography about the importance of fatherhood and the strategies adopted for personal development as a researcher, with an emphasis on the physical and emotional impacts of this process. During December 2024 and January 2025, I was responsible for the care of two young children, aged 8 and 3, while my wife worked, in addition to taking care of the maintenance of the house, in practical and financial terms. During this period, I experienced the pleasures and misfortunes of full-time fatherhood, which led to the strengthening of the family nucleus, although the outcome of the process significantly impacted the physical and emotional part of the father/researcher. The experience led to a sudden change in mood, excessive financial expenses, and prolonged stress.
Felipe Pires

//www.periodicos.ufam.edu.br/index.php/wamon/article/view/17620

The Social Outburst in Chile marked a turning point in popular mobilization against structural inequalities and the neoliberal legacy of Pinochet’s dictatorship. In this context, graffiti, murals, and interventions on historical monuments emerged as acts of resistance in public spaces. This article analyzes how these artistic expressions redefined national symbols and amplified Indigenous, feminist, and anti-capitalist voices. Drawing on theoretical references about public space and collective memory, we discuss the ephemerality and impact of these actions, highlighting their power as tools for social struggle and transformation. Finally, we reflect on the controversies surrounding the preservation or erasure of these interventions, which remain central to the debate on democracy and rights in contemporary Chile.
Tereza Maria Spyer Dulci
