By doing so, the study seeks to democratize access to archaeological knowledge, bringing researchers, students, and the general public closer together, since inserting ceramic artifacts and their contexts into a digital image database promotes both the preservation and dissemination of Indigenous peoples’ culture. For this purpose, a computerized cataloging system was developed, integrating existing collections and new findings into the digital archive available on the Museu Amazônico website¹. The work also reflects on how historiography has stigmatized the figure of the Indigenous in Brazil, thereby advocating for a more critical and inclusive approach. In this sense, digital heritage emerges as a tool for valuing Indigenous memory and strengthening cultural identity in the Amazon.
André Luiz de Vasconcelos Fidelis Junior Copyright (c) 2025 2025-11-19 2025-11-19 9 1 18 A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE HISTORY OF CHILDHOOD IN THE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE COLONIAL AMAZON //www.periodicos.ufam.edu.br/index.php/manduarisawa/article/view/18574
The history of childhood and children as objects of historical research are recent themes in Western historiography and arise in the wake of the historiographical renewals that permeated the 20th century. In Brazil, interest in this theme is even more recent and, with regard to the history of childhood in colonial Amazonia, it is a path of study that is still being followed. This article presents a bibliographical overview of the productions that deal with the history of childhood, within the scope of the historiography on the Amazon region that addresses the colonial period, as well as seeking to identify in these productions theoretical and methodological matrices used by the authors, comparing them with thematic and methodological innovations introduced by the New Colonial History, produced in Brazil.
Shayrula Alice Ferreira Dalloo Copyright (c) 2025 2025-12-04 2025-12-04 9 1 27 MEMORY OF THE OCCUPATION OF UFAM LOT OF LAND IN MANAUS (AM) //www.periodicos.ufam.edu.br/index.php/manduarisawa/article/view/17771

This project aims to analyze the role of social movements of residents in the occupation of these land plots, as well as the university administrations’ response to this situation. Additionally, the study considers the migration and settlement process of populations coming from both the interior of Amazonas and other Brazilian states on university land. The research was developed based on written and oral sources. The written sources include texts by researchers who have explored the history of Manaus in the 20th century, covering events ranging from the peak of the rubber cycle to the creation of the Free Trade Zone. The oral sources consist of accounts from former residents of the neighborhood who participated in the occupation of these lands and na interview with a UFAM Heritage Guard who was involved in the process of containing the occupations.

André Firmino Copyright (c) 2025 2025-11-16 2025-11-16 9 1 20 Clio's Children //www.periodicos.ufam.edu.br/index.php/manduarisawa/article/view/16103
The History course at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) was created through Resolution No. 003/80 of August 14, 1980, and was authorized to operate from the first semester of 1981. During this pilgrimage, each character tells stories. Produced at the end of the 14th century, the work is an important historical source from which we can draw various questions about the men and women of the Middle Ages, due to the diversity of characters presented and the positions they held (monks, knights, merchants, nuns, among others). In the stories told to pass the time, a variety of knowledge from the medieval period emerges, such as theology, medical science, commerce and - the main one for this work - magic. The study focuses on the period following the Proclamation of the Republic, seeking to understand how Dom Antônio, aligned with the Catholic project of the time, managed the Church's assets, regulated religious practices, and disciplined the clergy. Recognized by his biographers as the founder of the diocesan seminary, Dom Antônio showed great concern for the management of the Church's patrimonial goods, as evidenced in his correspondence with the parish priests. Utilizing Cultural History (CHARTIER, 1989) and critical discourse analysis (FAIRCLOUGH, 2001), the study aims to unveil the elements and adaptations of the restructuring project of Catholicism in Alagoas during the early decades of the Republic.

Keywords: Ultramontanism. The time frame for the analysis corresponds to the four-month period that runs from September to December 1918, an interval that covers both the phase that preceded the spread of influenza in the state and the epidemic outbreak in Sergipe. Periodicals published at the time in the capital Aracaju constitute the apparatus of sources used in the research, which is based on theoretical-methodological discussions regarding fear and death in historiography, as well as on approaches related to the evolution of this epidemic in Brazil, in general, and in Sergipe, in particular. The hypothesis is raised that, through the press, the Spanish flu became capable of frightening the population of Sergipe, due to the content of journalistic texts and the presence of an inherent subjectivity in the editors' discourse.
