ABSTRACT: This article deals with theoretical aspects of the master's research "Traditional Knowledge and the Clashes of Indigenous School Education in Aldeia Kujubim, Altamira-PA" in progress. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the Ethno-Educational Territory, with a definition of its organization, based on Decree 6.861 / 2009, which adds a singular achievement regarding the recognition of the affirmation and ethnic identity of indigenous peoples. To do so, we will point out a political-juridical category, thinking of Indigenous School Education in a structure based on the territoriality of its peoples, and then a brief contextualization of the Ethno-Education Territory of Middle Xingu - TEEMX, in Altamira, PA. The ideas approached in this work depart from the legal bases and conceptions of some authors as: Heck, Loebens and Carvalho (2005), Lima and Pozzobon (2005), Becker (2005), Freitas (2002), Bergamaschi and Sousa (2015), and Gallois (2004) studying the Amazon, Indigenous Peoples, Education, Territories and Territorialities, with the intention of presenting in part the official recognition and political struggles for the autonomy of the peoples in their territories. Although the legal obligation to the traditional peoples has promising paths within the Constitution, the struggles and challenges are constant, the political pressures on their territories, the fragmented education elaborated by programs not directed at the peculiarities of the cultures and the interests of the indigenous peoples are difficulties. However, they seek to overcome them in the constant struggle for recognition as protagonists of their own history. Resist and (res) mean their traditions.
